Жил-был Ваня малец неплохой
В захудалой сермяжной деревне
Со своею бабанькой глухой,
Со старушкою доброй и древней.

Называли его дураком
И совсем-то незлобные люди,
Наставляли на путь тумаком
И смеялись: мол, хуже не будет!

И уж брадою дурак, обрастал,
А ничегошеньки в доме не делал,
Как козёл с лавки на печь скакал
И за девками вовсе не бегал.

Раз мужик по прозванью Мартын
Пса и котика думал повесить,
Заплатил ему дурень алтын
И купил животиночек этих.

Тузик с Васькой в избе прижились,
Полюбив дурака без оглядки,
Никогда за еду не дрались,
А играли то в жмурки, то в прятки.

Как-то вышел Иван погулять
Со своими ручными зверями,
А в лесу молодцы (так их мать!)
Бьют змею Скарапею камнями.

Ваня их поругал-пристыдил
И последнею медной копейкой
Наконец-то ребят ублажил
Да за пазуху взял Скарапейку.

И хоть журила потом дурака
За такую покупку бабуся
Отвечал он подпёрши бока:
Не замай, я её не боюся!

С год змеиха у них пробыла
И перед тем как навеки проститься
Ваньке перстень заветный дала
И научила как с ним обходиться.

Оказалось, что эта змея

И всех тварей ползучих царица.

И кто колечко тряпицей, потрёт
Да на руку с руки перекинет,
Тот всё получит, что нА ум взбредёт
И без усилья, что хошь передвинет.

Первым делом Ванюшка решил,
Что мол, хватит им с бабкой поститься,
Кофий, чай заказал - получил,
Пряник съел и задумал жениться!

В ихнем царстве царевна жила
Государю-папашке отрада
И по слухам сходилось: была
И лицом и фигурой что надо.

Ваня перстень бархоткой потёр,
Вмиг у стольного града явился
Да такие палаты возвёл,
Что и царь обомлел - задивился!

Ваня бабку к ним свахой послал,
Приоделся и преобразился
Да таким раскрасавчиком стал,
Что на дочери царской женился!

Отопленье на пар перевёл,
Электричество выдумал сразу
Да остался как был не хитёр,
Не избёг человечьего сглазу.

И признаться женёнка его
Говорила лишь только для виду,
Что мол, Ванюшу люблю одного,
А сама затаила обиду.

Да и то, верно, какой-то мужик,
А к царевне в супруги подался,
Ведь у ней королевич-жених
Из-за моря любви домогался.

Заховала колечко она
Да к заморскому принцу свалила.
Плакал Ваня: "Гертрудка-жена
И почто же ты мне изменила?!"

Я историю здесь пропущу,
Как пёс и кот перстенёчек вернули,

...Сам Иван потихоньку забыл
