Исполинов, царивших эры, а не года.
Где бы были сейчас человеческие стада,
Если б динозаврам тогда не пришла звезда
(А точней, комета)?

Динозавры... Их кости, окаменев,
Стали уголь, кровь обратилась в нефть.
Материк сотрясался, ломался, менял рельеф.
Через миллионы

Лет ледник отступил и прошла зима:
Фотосинтез, набухли почки, растут корма,
Вновь повсюду следы органического дерьма,
Таракан расплодился, начал умнеть примат;
И не скажешь уже, будто в мире живых нема -
Но одушевлённых...

Ты стоишь - оглушённый, раздавленный тишиной,
А вдали серебрятся спинами под луной
Существа - с километр почти длиной, -
Проходя тропою,

Опоясавшей Землю, уводящей за окоём.
Нефть и уголь несут гиганты в нутре своём,
Плоть от плоти тех ящеров - здесь, живьём!

Мы спешим, суетимся по мелочам, снуём,
Никому не нужны со своим нытьём.

Поезда шумно дышат, вздымая тучных боков объём,
И бегут к водопою.

We are in a hurry, we are fussing about little things, we are dashing,
Nobody needs it with their whining.

Trains breathe noisily, lifting the fat sides of the volume,
And they run to the watering hole.
