И послал Иисус, сын Навин, из Ситтима двух соглядатаев тайно и сказал: пойдите, осмотрите землю и Иерихон. Два юноши пошли и пришли в дом блудницы, которой имя Раав, и остались ночевать там.
И сказано было царю Иерихонскому: вот, какие-то люди из сынов Израилевых пришли сюда в эту ночь, чтобы высмотреть землю.
Царь Иерихонский послал сказать Рааве: выдай людей, пришедших к тебе, которые вошли в твой дом, ибо они пришли высмотреть всю землю.
Но женщина взяла двух человек тех и скрыла их и сказала: точно приходили ко мне люди, но я не знала, откуда они;
когда же в сумерки надлежало затворять ворота, тогда они ушли; не знаю, куда они пошли; гонитесь скорее за ними, вы догоните их.
А сама отвела их на кровлю и скрыла их в снопах льна, разложенных у нее на кровле.
Посланные гнались за ними по дороге к Иордану до самой переправы; ворота же тотчас затворили, после того как вышли погнавшиеся за ними.
Прежде нежели они легли спать, она взошла к ним на кровлю
и сказала им: я знаю, что Господь отдал землю сию вам, ибо вы навели на нас ужас, и все жители земли сей пришли от вас в робость;
ибо мы слышали, как Господь иссушил пред вами воду Чермного моря, когда вы шли из Египта, и как поступили вы с двумя царями Аморрейскими за Иорданом, с Сигоном и Огом, которых вы истребили;
когда мы услышали об этом, ослабело сердце наше, и ни в ком из нас не стало духа против вас; ибо Господь Бог ваш есть Бог на небе вверху и на земле внизу;
итак поклянитесь мне Господом что, как я сделала вам милость, так и вы сделаете милость дому отца моего, и дайте мне верный знак,
что вы сохраните в живых отца моего и матерь мою, и братьев моих и сестер моих, и всех, кто есть у них, и избавите души наши от смерти.
Эти люди сказали ей: душа наша вместо вас да будет предана смерти, если вы не откроете сего дела нашего; когда же Господь предаст нам землю, мы окажем тебе милость и истину.
И спустила она их по веревке чрез окно, ибо дом ее был в городской стене, и она жила в стене;
и сказала им: идите на гору, чтобы не встретили вас преследующие, и скрывайтесь там три дня, доколе не возвратятся погнавшиеся за вами; а после пойдете в путь ваш.
И сказали ей те люди: мы свободны будем от твоей клятвы, которою ты нас закляла, если не сделаешь так:
вот, когда мы придем в эту землю, ты привяжи червленую веревку к окну, чрез которое ты нас спустила, а отца твоего и матерь твою и братьев твоих, все семейство отца твоего собери к себе в дом твой;
и если кто-нибудь выйдет из дверей твоего дома вон, того кровь на голове его, а мы свободны будем от сей клятвы твоей; а кто будет с тобою в твоем доме, того кровь на голове нашей, если чья рука коснется его;
если же ты откроешь сие наше дело, то мы также свободны будем от клятвы твоей, которою ты нас закляла.
Она сказала: да будет по словам вашим! И отпустила их, и они пошли, а она привязала к окну червленую веревку.
Они пошли и пришли на гору, и пробыли там три дня, доколе не возвратились гнавшиеся за ними. Гнавшиеся искали их по всей дороге и не нашли.
Таким образом два сии человека пошли назад, сошли с горы, перешли Иордан и пришли к Иисусу, сыну Навину, и пересказали ему все, что с ними случилось.
И сказали Иисусу: Господь предал всю землю сию в руки наши, и все жители земли в страхе от нас.

And Jesus sent, the son of Navin, from Sittim two spies secretly and said: go, inspect the earth and Jericho. Two youths went and came to the house of the harlot, whom the name Raav, and remained to spend the night there.
And it was said to the king of Jericho: here, some people from the sons of Israel came here that night to look for the earth.
The king of Jericho sent to say to Raava: give out people who came to you who entered your house, for they came to look out the whole earth.
But the woman took two people and hid them and said: people as if people came to me, but I did not know where they were from;
When the gate was to shut down at dusk, then they left; I don't know where they went; Drive after them rather, you will catch up with them.
And she herself took them to the roof and hid them in sheaves of flax, laid out on her roof.
The sent chased after them on the way to Jordan until the crossing; The gates were immediately shut after they went out behind them.
Before they went to bed, she ascended to their roof
And she said to them: I know that the Lord gave the earth this to you, for you have brought us horror, and all the inhabitants of this land came into timidity from you;
For we heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Chermic Sea before you when you were coming from Egypt, and as you did with the two kings of the Amorrere behind the Jordan, with the Sigon and the Assumes that you exterminated;
When we heard about this, our heart weakened, and not in whom the spirit was against you; For the Lord your God is God in the sky above and on the ground below;
So swear to me the Lord that I have made you mercy, so you will make the mercy of my father’s home, and give me the right sign,
That you will save my father and my mother, and my brothers and my sisters, and all who they have, and save our souls from death.
These people told her: Our soul instead may be devoted to death if you do not discover this matter; When the Lord will betray the earth to us, we will have mercy and truth to you.
And she lowered them on the rope through the window, for her house was in the city wall, and she lived in the wall;
And they told them: go to the mountain so that the chasers do not meet you, and hide there for three days, until you return to you; And then you will go on your way.
And those people told her: we will be free from your oath, to which you sworn us if you do not do this:
Now, when we come to this ground, you tie the worm -up rope to the window, through which you let us in, and your father and your mother and your brothers, the whole family of your father collect to your house;
And if someone comes out of the door of your house, that blood is on his head, and we will be free from this oath of your oath; And who will be with you in your house, that blood on our head, if whose hand touches him;
If you discover our business, then we will also be free from your oath to which you sworn us.
She said: let it be according to yours! And she let them go, and they went, and she tied a worm rope to the window.
They went and came to the mountain, and stayed there for three days, until they returned after them. The driven ones were looking for them all over the road and did not find them.
Thus, two of these people went back, left the mountains, crossed Jordan and came to Jesus, his son Navin, and retold everything that happened to them.
And they said to Jesus: the Lord betrayed all this land in our hands, and all the inhabitants of the earth in fear of us.
