    И вот законы, которые ты объявишь им:
    если купишь раба Еврея, пусть он работает шесть лет, а в седьмой пусть выйдет на волю даром;
    если он пришел один, пусть один и выйдет; а если он женатый, пусть выйдет с ним и жена его;
    если же господин его дал ему жену и она родила ему сынов, или дочерей, то жена и дети ее пусть останутся у господина ее, а он выйдет один;
    но если раб скажет: люблю господина моего, жену мою и детей моих, не пойду на волю, -
    то пусть господин его приведет его пред богов и поставит его к двери, или к косяку, и проколет ему господин его ухо шилом, и он останется рабом его вечно.
    Если кто продаст дочь свою в рабыни, то она не может выйти, как выходят рабы;
    если она не угодна господину своему и он не обручит ее, пусть позволит выкупить ее; а чужому народу продать ее не властен, когда сам пренебрег ее;
    если он обручит ее сыну своему, пусть поступит с нею по праву дочерей;
    если же другую возьмет за него, то она не должна лишаться пищи, одежды и супружеского сожития;
    а если он сих трех вещей не сделает для нее, пусть она отойдет даром, без выкупа.
    Кто ударит человека так, что он умрет, да будет предан смерти;
    но если кто не злоумышлял, а Бог попустил ему попасть под руки его, то Я назначу у тебя место, куда убежать убийце;
    а если кто с намерением умертвит ближнего коварно, то и от жертвенника Моего бери его на смерть.
    Кто ударит отца своего, или свою мать, того должно предать смерти.
    Кто украдет человека и продаст его, или найдется он в руках у него, то должно предать его смерти.
    Кто злословит отца своего, или свою мать, того должно предать смерти.
    Когда ссорятся, и один человек ударит другого камнем, или кулаком, и тот не умрет, но сляжет в постель,
    то, если он встанет и будет выходить из дома с помощью палки, ударивший не будет повинен смерти; только пусть заплатит за остановку в его работе и даст на лечение его.
    А если кто ударит раба своего, или служанку свою палкою, и они умрут под рукою его, то он должен быть наказан;
    но если они день или два дня переживут, то не должно наказывать его, ибо это его серебро.
    Когда дерутся люди, и ударят беременную женщину, и она выкинет, но не будет другого вреда, то взять с виновного пеню, какую наложит на него муж той женщины, и он должен заплатить оную при посредниках;
    а если будет вред, то отдай душу за душу,
    глаз за глаз, зуб за зуб, руку за руку, ногу за ногу,
    обожжение за обожжение, рану за рану, ушиб за ушиб.
    Если кто раба своего ударит в глаз, или служанку свою в глаз, и повредит его, пусть отпустит их на волю за глаз;
    и если выбьет зуб рабу своему, или рабе своей, пусть отпустит их на волю за зуб.
    Если вол забодает мужчину или женщину до смерти, то вола побить камнями и мяса его не есть; а хозяин вола не виноват;
    но если вол бодлив был и вчера и третьего дня, и хозяин его, быв извещен о сем, не стерег его, а он убил мужчину или женщину, то вола побить камнями, и хозяина его предать смерти;
    если на него наложен будет выкуп, пусть даст выкуп за душу свою, какой наложен будет на него.
    Сына ли забодает, дочь ли забодает, по сему же закону поступать с ним.
    Если вол забодает раба или рабу, то господину их заплатить тридцать сиклей серебра, а вола побить камнями.
    Если кто раскроет яму, или если выкопает яму и не покроет ее, и упадет в нее вол или осел,
    то хозяин ямы должен заплатить, отдать серебро хозяину их, а труп будет его.
    Если чей-нибудь вол забодает до смерти вола у соседа его, пусть продадут живого вола и разделят пополам цену его; также и убитого пусть разделят пополам;
    а если известно было, что вол бодлив был и вчера и третьего дня, но хозяин его не стерег его, то должен он заплатить вола за вола, а убитый будет его.

    And here are the laws that you will declare to them:
    if you buy a slave of a Jew, let him work for six years, and in the seventh let him go free for nothing;
    if he came alone, let him go out alone; but if he is married, let his wife go out with him;
    But if his master gave him a wife, and she bore him sons or daughters, then let the wife and her children remain with her master, and he will go out alone.
    but if the servant says: I love my master, my wife and my children, I will not go free, -
    then let his master lead him before the gods and set him to the door, or to the jamb, and his master pierce his ear with an awl, and he will remain his slave forever.
    If anyone sells his daughter as a slave girl, she cannot go out as slaves go out;
    if she is not pleasing to his master and he does not betray her, let him allow her to be redeemed; and he has no power to sell it to a stranger, when he himself neglected it;
    if he betrothed her to his son, let him deal with her as daughters deserve;
    if the other takes for him, then she should not be deprived of food, clothing and marriage;
    and if he does not do these three things for her, let her go away free, without ransom.
    Whoever hits a man so that he dies, let him be put to death;
    but if someone did not intend, and God allowed him to fall under his hands, then I will appoint with you a place where the murderer can escape;
    but if someone with intent will kill his neighbor treacherously, then take him to death from my altar.
    Whoever strikes his father, or his mother, must be put to death.
    Whoever steals a person and sells him, or he is found in his hands, must put him to death.
    Whoever curses his father, or his mother, must be put to death.
    When they quarrel, and one person hits another with a stone, or a fist, and he does not die, but goes to bed,
    then, if he gets up and leaves the house with a stick, the one who struck will not be guilty of death; only let him pay for a stop in his work and give him for treatment.
    And if someone strikes his servant, or his maidservant with a stick, and they die under his hand, then he must be punished;
    but if they survive a day or two days, then they should not punish him, for this is his silver.
    When people fight and hit a pregnant woman, and she will throw it out, but there will be no other harm, then take from the guilty the penalty that the husband of that woman will impose on him, and he must pay it through intermediaries;
    and if there is harm, then give soul for soul,
    eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, leg for leg,
    burning for burning, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.
    If someone hits his servant in the eye, or his maidservant in the eye, and hurt him, let him let them go free for the eye;
    and if he knocks out a tooth to his servant, or to his servant, let him set them free for a tooth.
    If an ox gores a man or a woman to death, then the ox should be stoned and its meat will not be eaten; and the owner of the ox is not to blame;
    but if the ox was alert yesterday and the day before yesterday, and his owner, having been informed of this, did not guard him, but he killed a man or a woman, then ston the ox and put his master to death;
    if a ransom is imposed on him, let him give a ransom for his soul, whatever will be imposed on him.
    Whether he gores a son or a daughter gores, according to the same law to deal with him.
    If an ox gores a slave or a slave, then their master must pay thirty shekels of silver, and the ox must be stoned.
    If someone opens a hole, or if he digs a hole and does not cover it, and an ox or a donkey falls into it,
    then the owner of the pit must pay, give the silver to their owner, and the body will be his.
    If someone's ox gores the ox of his neighbor to death, let the live ox be sold and its price halved; also let the slain be divided in half;
    and if it was known that the ox was awake both yesterday and the day before yesterday, but his owner did not watch over him, then he must pay the ox for the ox, and the slain will be him.
