Nursery Cryme — третий студийный альбом британской группы Genesis, вышедший в 1971 году. Название пластинки навеяно содержанием первой композиции «The Musical Box» (в пер. с англ. «Музыкальная шкатулка») и является игрой слов с перестановкой букв между английскими фразами «Nursery Rhyme» (в пер. с англ. «Детский стишок, прибаутка») и «Nursery Crime» (в пер. с англ. «Преступление в детской»). Начальная композиция альбома «The Musical Box» («Музыкальная Шкатулка») послужила источником для названия и художественного оформления альбома. В тексте к композиции частично использованы слова к упоминавшейся песенке про легендарного кельтского короля Британии — Старого Короля Коула («Old King Cole») — эта песня входит в знаменитый сборник «Сказки матушки гусыни» и известна в России под названием «Король Коль» в переводе С. Я. Маршака. Музыкальная составляющая композиции проходит через несколько частей с виртуозным исполнением партий на меллотроне и электрогитаре и является классическим образцом прогрессивного рока начала 70-х годов. Песня пользовалась большим успехом у поклонников группы как в эпоху Гэбриэла, так и Коллинза в качестве основного вокалиста, а финальная кульминационная часть композиции с надрывным 30-кратным повторением «Now…» и ярким прожектором жёлтого цвета, светившим исполнителю в лицо, стала частью попурри, исполняемого даже в 90-х и состоявшего из наиболее известных песен 70-х годов.
Песня «For Absent Friends» («Ушедшим Друзьям») стала предтечей второго периода группы после ухода из неё Питера Гэбриэла — основную вокальную партию впервые исполил Фил Коллинз. Nursery Cryme - the third studio album by the British band Genesis, released in 1971. Records name inspired by the content of the first song «The Musical Box» (in trans. from English. "Music Box") and is a play on words with the permutation of letters between the English phrase «Nursery Rhyme» (in trans. from English. "nursery rhyme, nursery rhymes" ) and «nursery Crime» (in trans. from English. "Crime in the children"). In recording their first attended Phil Collins (drums, backing vocals) and Steve Hackett (guitar), be replaced by John Mayhew and Anthony Phillips. The initial composition of the album «The Musical Box» ( «Music Box") served as the source for the name, and album artwork.
