In April 2006, the band announced that they had signed to Ferret Records, and in August the band hinted that they would begin work on their Ferret Records debut in October, and the public would see the album in early 2007. Dallas Taylor reassured fans again in January 2007, when he said Maylene and The Sons of Disaster were preparing to release the EP The Day Hell Broke Loose At Sicard Hollow in addition to II (the band's second album).
