Когда состаришься
Когда состаришься, в вечерний час
Раскрой, сев у камина, этот том;
Мечтай за книгой, вспоминай о том,
Как мягок взор был, что теперь угас;
William Butler Yeats
When You are Old
When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.
When you build up
When you constitute, in the evening
Cutting, sowing by the fireplace, this volume;
Dream of a book, remember that
How soft eyes were that now UGAS;
What was a lot of things in fate
Was for the grace and beauty of loved,
But eye sorrow and pilgrim soul
Only one man loved in you.
Gray head to the fire slon
Say: Love has gone, and with some pores,
Now walks on the vertices of the mountains,
In heaven, - Crowners are growing.
William Butler Yeats.
