ДОЛИНА ПОИСКА

Конь сей Долины – терпение; без терпения путник в сем странствии никуда не дойдет и ничего не достигнет. Но не пристало ему и падать духом; да не ослабеет он, даже если трудился целую вечность, и все же не сумел узреть красоты Друга. Ибо те, что взыскуют Каабу8 «ради Нас», обрадуются известием: «По путям Нашим поведем их»9. В поиске своем они крепко опоясали чресла поясом служения и каждый миг чаяли путешествия из юдоли небрежения в царство бытия. Не воротить их назад никакими узами, не удержать никакими советами.

Слугам сим надлежит очистить сердце свое, в коем источник Божественных сокровищ, от предубеждения; им должно отринуть подражание, то есть не следовать по стопам предков своих и родителей, и запереть врата приязни и вражды ко всем людям земли.

На сем пути ищущий достигнет стадии, когда увидит, как все сотворенное в полной отрешенности устремляется на поиски Друга. Сколь много встретит он Иаковов, что гоняются за своим Иосифом; сколь много узрит он любящих, что чают обрести Возлюбленного; на его глазах целый мир томящихся желанием будет искать Желанного. Во всякий миг откроется ему нечто значимое, во всякий час приобщится он некоей тайне, ибо он удалил сердце свое от обоих миров и обратился к Каабе Возлюбленного. Во всяком шаге поможет ему Невидимое Царство, и жар его поиска будет расти.

О поиске должно судить, как судил Маджнун, или Безумный от любви10. Рассказывают, что Маджнун однажды просеивал песок и лил слезы. Его спросили: «Что ты делаешь?»– Он сказал: «Ищу Лейли». – Ему возразили: «Горе тебе! Лейли – из чистого духа, а ты ищешь ее во прахе!» – Он сказал: «Я ищу ее повсюду; быть может, где-нибудь и найду».

И хотя не пристало мудрому искать Господа Господ во прахе, это все же указывает на рвение в поиске. «Кто усердно ищет – обрящет»11.

Истинный искатель устремлен лишь к предмету своих желаний, и у любящего нет иного намерения, кроме соединения с возлюбленным. Но ищущий не обрящет искомого, если не пожертвует всем. Сие означает, что все им виденное, слышанное и понятое надлежит отринуть, дабы войти в царство духа, он же и есть Град Божий. Нужно трудиться, если хотим мы обрести Его; нужно пылать, если мы чаем вкусить меда соединения с Ним; а пригубив от чаши сей, мы отринем бренный мир.

Путник в сем странствии – всякой страны жилец, всякого края обитатель. Во всяком лике взыскует он красоты Друга, в каждой стране ищет он Возлюбленного. Он входит в любое собрание и ищет близости со всякой душою, ибо в чьем-то сознании может он обнаружить тайну Друга, в чьем-то лике – узреть красоту Возлюбленного.

И если с Божией помощью найдет он на сем пути следы Друга, что не оставляет следов, и чрез небесного посланника вдохнет благоухание от давно потерянного Иосифа12, он вступит прямо в

VALLEY SEARCH

The horse of this Valley is patience; without patience, the traveler on this journey will not reach anywhere and will not achieve anything. But it was not for him to be discouraged; may he not weaken, even if he worked for an eternity, and yet he could not see the beauty of the Friend. For those who seek the Kaaba8 "for our sake" will be delighted with the news: "We will lead them in our ways" 9. In their search, they firmly girded their loins with a belt of service and every moment looked forward to travel from the vale of neglect to the kingdom of being. Do not turn them back by any bonds, do not hold them back by any advice.

These servants must cleanse their hearts, in which the source of Divine treasures, from prejudice; they must reject imitation, that is, not follow in the footsteps of their ancestors and parents, and lock the gates of affection and enmity towards all people on earth.

On this path, the seeker will reach the stage when he sees how everything created in complete detachment rushes in search of a Friend. How many Jacob will he meet, chasing after their Joseph; how many lovers will he see, hoping to find the Beloved; before his eyes the whole world of yearning with desire will seek the Desired. At any moment something meaningful will be revealed to him, at any hour he will join some kind of mystery, for he removed his heart from both worlds and turned to the Kaaba of the Beloved. The Invisible Kingdom will help him in every step, and the heat of his search will grow.

The search must be judged as Majnun, or the Mad for Love, judged. It is said that Majnun once sifted sand and shed tears. He was asked: "What are you doing?" - He said: "I am looking for Leili." - They objected to him: “Woe to you! Leili is of pure spirit, and you are looking for her in the dust! " “He said,“ I'm looking for her everywhere; maybe I will find it somewhere. "

And although it is not proper for a wise man to seek the Lord of Lords in the dust, this still indicates zeal in the search. "He who diligently seeks will find" 11.

A true seeker strives only towards the object of his desires, and the lover has no other intention than to unite with the beloved. But the seeker will not find what he is looking for unless he sacrifices everything. This means that everything he has seen, heard and understood must be rejected in order to enter the kingdom of the spirit, which is the City of God. We must work if we want to find Him; we need to be aflame if we are tempted to taste the honey of union with Him; and having sipped from this cup, we will reject the mortal world.

A traveler on this journey is an inhabitant of every country, an inhabitant of every land. In every face he seeks the beauty of the Friend, in every country he seeks the Beloved. He enters any assembly and seeks intimacy with every soul, for in someone's consciousness he can discover the secret of a Friend, in someone's face - to see the beauty of the Beloved.

And if, with God's help, he finds on this path the traces of a Friend that leaves no trace, and through the heavenly messenger breathes in the fragrance of the long-lost Joseph12, he will enter directly into
