ЖИТИЕ ПРЕПОДОБНОГО НИКОНА СУХОГО,

В БЛИЖНИХ ПЕЩЕРАХ ПОЧИВАЮЩЕГО

(память 11/24 декабря)

Преподобный Никон Сухой, сын богатых и знатных родителей, жил в конце XI — начале ХII века в Киеве. Оставив все Христа ради, он принял иноче­ство в Киево-Печерском монастыре.

В 1096 году, при нашествии половецкого хана Боняка, он вместе с другими иноками был взят в плен. Некий христолюбец из града Киева прибыл к полов­цам, желая выкупить пленников. Никон, однако, не заботился об этом, и христо­любец, уплатив выкуп за многих, возвратился и поведал о блаженном. Родствен­ники его, услышав о том, явились со мно­гим имением, чтобы выкупить препо­доб­ного. Но блаженный Никон сказал им: «Не теряйте напрасно своего имения. Если бы Господь хотел, чтобы я был свободен, Он бы не предал меня в руки сих беззаконников, ибо Сам предает в тяжкий плен тех, кого хочет. Но мы, аще благая прияхом от руки Господ­ней, злых ли не стерпим (Иов. 20, 10)».
И родст­венники возвратились обратно со всем своим богатством. Тогда пленив­шие блаженного и прочие половцы, видя, что лишились платы за выкуп, на­чали немилосердно мучить раба своего. В продолжение целых трех лет они ежедневно озлобляли его, сковав ему руки и ноги, иногда возлагали его на огонь и резали ножами его тело, морили голодом и жаждой, давая пищу через день, через два или же три. Летом его оставляли под палящим солнцем, зимой же, полагая на снег, мучили холодом. Все это делали безбожные половцы для того, чтобы блаженный выкупил себя. Но преподобный Никон благодарил о всем Господа, молясь Ему непрестанно. Тогда Господь послал ему дар чудо­творений: своей молитвой преподобный Никон исцелял других пленников, а однаж­ды исцелил и своего хозяина, лежавшего на смертном одре.

Испытывая муки, он собирался умирать. Призвав к себе жен и детей своих, заповедал им, чтобы черноризец Никон был распят над гробом его. Блаженный же прозрел духом будущее покаяние половчанина, поэтому усердно помо­лил­ся о нем, и тот получил исцеление. Так избавил преподобный Никон и себя от горькой смерти телесной, и половчанина — не только от телесной, но и от ду­шевной.

Но половчане продолжали жестоко обращаться с преподобным, и однажды он сказал своим мучителям: «Христос туне избавит меня от рук ваших. Мне же явился и брат мой Евстратий (+ 1097; память 28 марта/10 апреля), которого вы предали жидам на распятие. Сей брат известил меня о моем освобождении: в третий день я буду в монастыре ради молитв преподобных Антония (+ 1073; память 10/23 июля и 28 сентября/11 октября) и Феодосия (+ 1074; память 3/16 мая и 14/27 августа) Печерских. Вы же, окаянные, с Иудою, продавшим на крест Господа, будете мучиться». Услышав все это, хозяин думал, что он хо­чет бежать, подрезал блаженному Никону жилы на ногах и приставил к нему большую стражу. На третий день после такого предсказания, в шестом часу дня, на глазах стражников преподобный Никон стал невидим, только был слышан голос, воспевающий: «Хвалите Господа с небес».

Так преподобный Никон невидимо был перенесен в Печерскую церковь Пресвятой Богородицы в то время, когда совершалась Божественная литургия. Израненный и в кандалах, святой угодник хотел из смирения скрыть дивное чудо своего избавления, но братия, видя его связанным, видя на нем желез­­ные оковы, и раны, и все тело его, сгнившее от ран, и даже каплющую кровь
от под­резания жил на ногах, стала упрашивать рассказать истину. Тогда преподобный расска­зал все с ним бывшее, но не давал снять железных оков
с рук и ног своих. Тогда игумен сказал ему: «Брате! Если бы Господу было угодно видеть тебя в этих оковах, то Он не избавил бы тебя от плена. Поэтому теперь послушай нас». Так, сняв с него железо, они освободили его; железо же перековано было на необходимые принадлежности алтаря.

Прошло много времени. С половцами был заключен мир. В Киев прибыл половчанин, пленивший Никона. Он пришел в Печерский монастырь, где увидел блаженного, сразу узнал своего бывшего пленника и рассказал о нем игумену и братии все подробно. Братия прославили Бога, а умилившийся духом полов­чанин

Saint Nikon Dry, son of rich and noble parents , lived at the end of XI - beginning of the twelfth century in Kiev. Leaving all for Christ's sake , he became a monk at the Kiev Monastery of the Caves .

In 1096 , during the invasion of the Polovtsian Khan Bonyak , he and other monks had been taken prisoner . A hristolyubets hail from Kiev came to Polovechens wanting to redeem captives. In the summer it was left in the hot sun , winter, putting on the snow , cold tortured . All this makes the godless Cumans to redeem myself blessed . But Monk Nikon thanked the Lord of all , praying to Him unceasingly. Then the Lord sent him the gift of miracles : his prayer Monk Nikon healed other prisoners , and once healed , and his master , who was lying on his deathbed .
