Шестой альбом группы и четвёртый в классическом составе с вокалисткой Энни Хэслэм. «Scheherazade and Other Stories» по праву считают пиком творчества коллектива, именно этот альбом прославил группу и стал её визитной карточкой на все последующие времена.
«Trip to the Fair»
Пафосное фортепианное вступление длится три с половиной минуты и перерастает в милые вокальные партии. Хэслэм демонстрирует природную красоту своего голоса, под стать вокалу красивая песенная мелодия. Продолжают композицию парящие клавишные, и скоро происходит возвращение к основной теме. Всё сделано очень органично, сплетение музыки и голоса совершенно.
«The Vultures Fly High»
Слабое место альбома. Ничем не примечательная песня. Не композиция, а песня, поскольку вокал Хэслэм в ней преобладает над маловыразительным музыкальным рядом.
«Ocean Gypsy»
Самая известная вещь с альбома. Можно даже сказать, что это - получившая наибольшую известность композиция группы за всю карьеру. По большей части, знаменита она стала из-за кавер версии Blackmore's Night, которая в своё время вернула интерес публики к подзабытому творчеству коллектива.
Песня делится стандартно на куплеты и припевы, но куплетов, в отличие от поп-песен, много, чем достигается ощущение почти что литературного повествования.
