Sacred Spirit is a project of German-born American Peter Cater, who has written music for seven dozen television films and theater productions, working in a variety of genres from new age to modern jazz, recorded both solo and vocal ensembles and symphony orchestras. The Sacred Spirit is based on the chants of the American Indians mixed with modern percussion, keyboards, Spanish guitar, flute and jazz piano. As for the lyrics, options are possible - from the poems of Walt Whitman and Sidney Lanier to the legends of the Sioux tribe. In addition to Cater, the project involved the arranger and producer Chris Zundel (The Fearsome Brave). In 1998, Virgin released “Sacred Spirit: Chants and Dances of the Native Americans,” which proved to be quite successful, which allowed two years later to implement the next project, entitled “Sacred Spirit, Vol. 2: More Chants and Dances of Native, recorded with vocalists Jackie Bird and Nelly Bulls.
