Bradford Alexander Mehldau is an American pianist, known both his solo career and leadership of his name, and his close cooperation with such famous musicians as Pat Metheny, Wayne Redman, Christian McBride, Michael Breckere , Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jimmy Cobb, and classic vocalists Renee Fleming and Anne Sofie Von Otter. Brad was born in Jacksonville, Florida, but soon his family moved to Connecticut, where he spent all his childhood. As a student of the 2nd grade of high school, Melldau received the Berkeley college award, and after school, in 1988, he moved to New York to study the jazz at The New School University. Later, he played for some time as Sidman (mainly in the quartet of Joshua Redman), until he founded his own trio in 1994. In addition to his own works, two of his records with Pata Matthew.
The main repertoire of Brad is its own compositions and jazz standards, but its interesting arrangements of foam and rock music have a special place. In the list of his alterations there are performers such as Nick Drake, The Beatles, Radiohead, Paul Simon, Soundgarden and others. He is also known for his deep knowledge in philosophy, especially regarding the philosophy of music and art.
